About us

Bridgetime Systems AB is a Swedish company that was founded in January 2012 with the business concept of developing a modern, user-friendly, web-based bridge scoring system. Bridgetime Systems is a subsidiary of Retendo AB, which offers software for workforce management to universities, and software for project management and time reporting to consultancy firms.

Bridgetime Systems was founded by Jens Apelgren and his father, Roland Apelgren, both experienced entrepreneurs in the software industry, who have developed and run successful IT companies. Roland Apelgren plays bridge in his spare time and saw the frustration of bridge clubs caused by the time and energy spent on using elder scoring systems, and the computer skills the systems demanded of the tournament director. 

Development of Bridgetime Score began in 2012 and the first test tournaments were held at various bridge clubs in 2013. The response was very positive, and the clubs were enthusiastic about playing with such an intuitive, user-friendly system as Bridgetime Score. “This is the system of the future”, as one player put it.

Over time, Bridgetime Score has been supplemented by systems that facilitate the administration of bridge clubs: Bridgetime Pay, for digital payment of tournament fees and financial transactions between members and clubs, and Bridgetime Café, which works as a digital cash register for purchases in the club’s cafeteria.
